Phashara (pronounced fah-shuh-rah) is what you get when you cross soul with hip-hop & emcee-ism with maturity. Melodic tunes, raw bangin beats and charismatic speaktivity are the ingredients that culminate to make his raw b-boy groove.
Phasharas initial exposure to hip-hop’s underground scene came while partnered with rap group Vibe Percent (later known as Sac.Fly). Performances at NAACP, RAINBOW PUSH, PAN AMERICAN FEST at Soldiers Field, & a host of other reputable venues (Wildhare, Hothouse, Temple Bar, Airliner, Crash Mansion LA) coupled with weekly appearances on WCRX’s” the last crate” hip-hop show (93 to96) gained the group a nomination along side rubber room as best new rap group.
With musical influences ranging from Parliament Funkadelic and Prince to Boogie Down Productions & Rakim, Phashas most evident attribute is his ability to mix well thought out lyrical content & vocal delivery with the soul of R&Bs past & the thumping street dexterity of hip-hop.
