Phashara preps his debut solo album. After featuring as both artist and producer on Beatmonstas Entertainment’s UK & US College Circuit released hit CD “The 3rd Weapon”, Phashara is ready to embark on new journeys with soon to be crowned classic release entitled “The Storybook Adventure”.

The Storybook is authentic Hip-Hop. It’s genuine approach veers far from the beaten path of today’s cookie cutter urbanized renditions of hokey-pokey that some refer to as “ring tone rap”.

Phashara’s mission this go round is to use the art of storytelling to project rich portrayals of life through the eyes of a west side Chicagoan. The soulful bangin beats provided by the likes of Heralded Beat Champions, namely Radius, Tall Black Guy, Noble Dru & Phashara himself, serves as the canvas and soundscape for Phashara to paint vivid tales of city living and lessons learned. Still the fun and excitement of hip-hop’s golden age are overtly present and seem to be the recurring them in “The Storybook”.

Peace and Greetings to all of you. This is the official relaunch of the newly redesigned website. We decidedly went with a blog approach to our website this time around as we’d like to keep our ears to the street and stay in close interactive contact with our people & fans.

We are excited about 2008. We have big things planned and we are looking forward to you taking this wonderful journey with us.

Firstly, we will be releasing debut album from Phashara, one of BM’s co-founders. The album project is entitled “The Storybook Adventure” and features production from a few of Chicago’s Heralded Beat Champions namely Radius, Tall Black Guy, Noble Dru & Phashara himself. “Storybook” sports verses by Phashara’s long time partners in rhyme Bosa, Noble Dru & Therapy. Stay tuned to the internet as we drop gems through out the spring but the official release date for “Storybook” is July 1st 2008.

Next up is the Beatmonstas follow up CD project entitled “Bomb ’til We Hit ‘em”. Noble Dru and Phashara are fast at work producing the lions share of the project. Other producers to date include Dig Dug, Lou Mef & Tall Black Guy. The Beatmonstas emcee’s (Noble Dru, Phashara, Therapy & Diamond Back) can be found dropping their signature socially conscious, eye opening, gem laden lyrics over that ole boom bap. The project is currently a work in progress but you can expect to see a finished product in Fall / Winter 2008.

Lastly, we would like to welcome Sense, the newest member of the Beatmonstas Entertainment, to the family. Sense is a young Chicago B-Boy in every way. From producing his own songs and videos to bombing the city with his graffiti crew and spitting flame on various features around the city, Sense definitely reps a new generation of Beatmonstas very well. We are happy to have Sense aboard and we plan to drop a few gems from him in the near future.

On May 16th 2008, The Hip-Hop Woodstock went down and it was a great event. Presented by HipHop Cafe’s Guru.A.,  who is no stranger to  presenting ill hip-hop events in Hollywood. The Hip-Hop Cafe has hosted events featuring Hip-Hop heavyweights such as KRS-One, Kurtis Blow and others.

The venue was “The Dragon Fly” in the heart of Hollywood California. There were tons of great performers on hand for Hip-Hop Woodstock including Phashara & DJ Dinari (Beatmonstas), Kandi Cole (The (SIS)tem), Cipes & The People (MTV’s Reality Series “Twenty Four Seven”), Lomis (Project Blowed) just to name a few. DJ Sweets was the resident DJ for the night and she held it down nicely with joints by Dilla, ATCQ and the like all night long.

We herald cats like Guru.A for bringing hip-hop to Hollywood in a well packaged way. We hope to see this evetn for many moons to come as it allows indie hip-hop heads to show and prove in front of the heads that nuture the culture. Peace Guru.a & Hip-Hop Cafe.
