These days there aint no villages raising children, there aint no street light curfews, & there aint no Saturday morning family time where you and yours clean the house while checking out the soul train line for the latest dance steps and coolest new tunes. Now-a-days, we live in a world where no one cares about their neighbor, kids arent expected to respect the old heads & music is sterile, tired, manufactured & inorganic. Still in all, it is often said that It is darkest before the light so in the immortal words of the creator Let there be light & the light is that of our bright new shining star Rahfiki.
The name Rahfiki is Swahili for friend & the moment you hear the sincere warmth and familiarity in his music and voice youll feel as if the cool cat next door just sat down with you to converse for a spell. Rahfiki is a throw back to the many soul moments in time when artists like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder & Chaka Khan made monumental impact on the sound that is known as soul music today. He has cultivated and honed his song writing and crooning abilities to a fine craft of art that, while damn good at first listen, only appreciates with time
